  • Violation of the automation policy results in immediate breach and disqualification from the program.

Update: March 2026

Alpha Trader Firm's automation policy prohibits the use of third-party automated trading tools, including TradersPost. Traders looking for prop firms that support automated trading can visit traderspost.io/connections to see currently supported firms.

Alpha Trader Firm's FAQ states that Expert Advisors (EAs), bots, scripts, and all forms of automated execution are prohibited at every stage -- both challenge and funded1. Copy trading is also prohibited at all stages1. This means TradersPost is not a viable automation option for Alpha Trader accounts.

This guide covers the automation policy, challenge options, and trading rules.

Automation Policy

Alpha Trader's FAQ on EAs and copy trading is clear1:

  • EAs, trading bots, scripts, and all automated execution are prohibited1
  • Copy trading is prohibited1
  • All trading must be executed manually by the account owner1
  • This applies to both challenge and funded stages1
  • Violation results in immediate breach and disqualification1

Because automated execution is prohibited, third-party tools like TradersPost should not be used on Alpha Trader accounts. Alpha Trader's primary platforms are TradeLocker, Platform 5 (MT5), and MatchTrader2.

Challenge Options

If Alpha Trader confirms that TradersPost's webhook-based alerts are permitted, these are the evaluation options to consider:

One-Step Challenge

Single phase with an 8% profit target and 6% max drawdown2. Daily loss limit of 3% and floating PnL limit of 3%2. Requires 5 profitable days with at least 0.50% return each2. Unlimited duration2. Pricing starts at $119 for a $10K account2.

Two-Step Challenge

Two phases with a 10% Phase 1 target and 5% Phase 2 target3. The most generous drawdown at 10% max loss with a 5% daily loss limit3. Floating PnL limit of 3%3. Minimum 3 days per phase with unlimited duration3. Pricing starts at $79 for a $10K account3.

Two-Step Pro

Tighter parameters at 8%/4% profit targets with 5% max drawdown and 3% daily loss4. No minimum trading days during evaluation; 5 days required when funded4. Pricing starts at $59 for a $10K account4.

Instant Funding

No evaluation required5. Tightest risk limits: 5% trailing drawdown, 3% daily loss, 1% floating PnL5. Requires 10 profitable days with 0.50% gain per day before first withdrawal5. Pricing starts at $99 for a $10K account5.

The Two-Step Challenge provides the most generous drawdown limits for strategy testing due to the 10% max loss and 5% daily loss3.

Trader Score

The Trader Score measures how concentrated your profits are in a single day6. Formula: (Highest Single-Day Profit / Total Realized Profit) x 1006. Withdrawal eligibility requires6:

  • One-Step, Two-Step, and Two-Step Pro: 40% or lower6
  • Instant Funding: 20% or lower6

The score resets to 100% after each payout6. For any trading approach targeting Trader Score compliance:

  • If you have a large winning day, continue trading additional days to dilute the score
  • Aim for consistent daily returns rather than occasional large swings
  • Monitor the score continuously -- it must be at threshold or below at payout time

News Trading Rules

News trading is fully permitted during challenge phases with no restrictions7. On funded accounts without the News Trading Add-On, trading is prohibited within 5 minutes before and after high-impact (red-folder) news events7. Violating this on a funded account is a hard breach7.

The News Trading Add-On must be selected at checkout and cannot be added later7. If your strategy trades frequently around economic events, purchase the add-on at the time of challenge purchase.

Weekend Trading

As of January 1, 2026, weekend trading is enabled for all newly purchased accounts8. No add-on is required for accounts purchased after this date8. All standard risk rules remain in effect during weekend trading8.

Prohibited Trading Strategies

The following strategies are prohibited9:

  • Grid trading9
  • Tick scalping (extremely short-duration trades)9
  • Martingale and progressive risk strategies9
  • Hedging between accounts9
  • Hedging within a single account9
  • High-frequency trading (HFT)9
  • Latency arbitrage9
  • Signal trading and trade copying9
  • Data feed manipulation9

Scaling Plan

Funded accounts can scale up to $4,000,00010. Each scaling event increases the account by 50% of the original account size10. Scaling is reviewed every 60 calendar days and requires good standing with no breaches and consistent payouts10.

Payout Structure

  • Standard (30-day cycle): 100% profit split (80% on first payout)11
  • Weekly Add-On: 80% profit split11
  • On-Demand Add-On: 70% profit split11

Challenge fees are refundable after passing and first payout (except Instant Funding, which is non-refundable)12. Accounts are closed after 30 days without trading activity13.

Conclusion

Alpha Trader Firm's FAQ prohibits EAs, bots, scripts, and all automated execution at every stage1. This makes third-party automated trading tools, including TradersPost, incompatible with Alpha Trader accounts. Traders looking for prop firms that support automated trading can visit traderspost.io/connections to see currently supported firms.

For manual traders, Alpha Trader offers unlimited evaluation duration23, a 100% profit split on standard 30-day payouts11, and scaling up to $4 million10.
