TradersPost Order Management: Canceling Individual Limit Orders

TradersPost currently cancels all limit orders for a ticker rather than individual orders. While future updates may add order ID tracking, traders can work around this by canceling all orders and resubmitting only the ones they want to keep.

Update history
  1. Major update

TradersPost now supports canceling limit orders separately from stop orders, so the article's conclusion and workaround have been corrected to reflect in-platform selective cancellation while per-order-ID support remains unconfirmed.

Can You Cancel One Limit Order While Keeping Others Active?

TradersPost allows users to cancel limit orders while keeping stop-loss orders active when multiple orders are placed for the same ticker1. The optional cancel order type field lets users target limit orders instead of canceling all orders associated with that ticker1.

TradersPost provides an in-platform way to cancel open orders by order type2. Per-order-ID cancellation is not currently confirmed1.

Workarounds for Canceling a Single Limit Order

For traders using TradingView and Pine Script, one possible workaround is:

1. Use the optional cancel order type field to cancel limit orders through TradersPost.

2. Keep stop-loss orders active by targeting only limit orders.

3. Per-order-ID cancellation is not currently confirmed1.

This approach can help manage multiple limit orders more effectively within the current system1.

Future Enhancements

TradersPost now supports canceling open orders by order type, allowing users to cancel limit orders while keeping stop-loss orders active2. Per-order-ID cancellation and dynamic order-detail retrieval are not currently confirmed1.

Conclusion

At this time, canceling limit orders while keeping stop-loss orders active is possible in TradersPost. The best option is to use the cancel order type field to target limit orders while leaving stop-loss orders open. Per-order-ID cancellation is not currently confirmed1.
